Underwriting Policy
The Company has developed in cooperation with local sister companies
bilateral arrangements for the acceptances of additional quota both on
treaties and facultative basis to compensate the gradually decrease of legal
cessions. Consequently, there will be undoubtedly better results, as all
cessions in this manner will be written on a sound basis by underwriting
specific risks on their merits or declining them for their demerits.
A further aspect of the Company’s strategic plan is to increase the volume
of business it assumes from international insurers and reinsurers. Our
initial target is the Arab world where the company has a strong cultural
affinity and long-established relationships. An additional focus for growth
is Africa and Asia where the company also has very strong business
relationships.
In order to enlarge its portfolio of business emanating from abroad the
technical departments in collaboration with the market research sector are
canvassing the international market to decide on the most promising markets
to direct efforts to such areas for the expansion of business relations.
To achieve its plans the Company is focusing on:
-
Increasing limits of acceptances and arranging suitable protection covers,
taking into consideration that the Company according to its articles of
association can write all classes of direct insurance from abroad.
-
Increasing paid up capital and free reserves.
-
Developing the current investment policy.
